Chipotle Considering New Chain Called Better Burger

Chipotle Considering New Chain Called Better Burger:  Chipotle Mexican Grill is rumored to be considering entering the hamburger business after filing a trademark application for the name "Better Burger.”  This will come as welcome news for those who prefer to get their E. coli on a bun instead of a tortilla.  Analysts say its about time the troubled chain branches out into other things, like Mad Cow Disease.  That said, many food critics believe Chipotle…

The Con Man and the Carpet Bomber

Let’s start with a quick quiz. True or false, Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump, at some point or another, has said each of the following:

“I don’t feel guilty for anything. I feel…

What if Trump had been born into a different family?

Trump fits the bill for the observations the late former Texas Governor Ann Richards made on G.W. Bush.

"He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth!" Also, "He was born on third base and thinks he hit a…

Trump, Abortion, and Nukes

The latest anti-Trump flaps ginned up by the liberal media concern abortion and the use of nukes in defensive warfare. So fierce has been the media and political attacks that Trump has been forced to modify/change his stands more than reason requires.

As for abortion, the idea of holding a woman legally responsible for her abortion under certain carefully circumscribed circumstances is not indefensible. A woman in an advanced state of pregnancy who has knowingly dithered around…

"VALIANT PATTY DUKE" - The Brightest Star Of Them All! I know - I WAS THERE!

File:Patty Duke 1975.JPG

As I remember her

Patty Duke

Not a funny one this time - but soon.

In July 1970, I crossed paths with Academy Award Winner Patty Duke during one of her highs.  Never knowing there were any lows; it was eye-opening, if…

Israeli Immoral Exceptionalism

I sometimes talk about Israeli Immoral Exceptionalism. It's my own term, though I won't guarantee that no one else has ever come up with it independently. In case you don't find the…

Private First Class Doty's language lessons. Strawbanas [def.- n.=......]

Slickly stalking me to give me those language lessons.

After school Garrett would show up to 'walk me home' and lead me through the experience.

I was only in junior high.

Take me on this journey with you.

Lead me through your experience.

I went to the Hobby Lobby store once to get airbrush needles.  He was there waiting with them bent laughing that he could do it.  I saw him standing near the gas pumps as I was walking through Schwegler's…

Punishment For Abortions!!!??

I got so mad at Trump for saying that if abortions became illegal again women who had them anyway would need to be punished that I had horrible nightmares. He has a talent for distilling an issue down to the basics and he really did that this time. ie...  Women are demonized for not…

Trump and the Media

The week’s two big deal Trump issues have a common thread. It’s called self defense.

The dumbest remark of the week was uttered by CNN’s Anderson Cooper, not the brightest bulb at the best of times, when he characterized Trump’s defense of his wife on the ground that Cruz or his crew “started it” as the response of a “five-year old.” Well, Andy, oftimes real wisdom comes, “out of the mouths of babes.”

The incident between Trump’s campaign manager and a reporter seems also to…

Tattoos Find Favor Among Busy CPAs at Tax Time

CHICAGO.  Sheryl Wilkins, a senior tax manager at a mid-sized accounting firm, is dreading next month’s tax filing crunch.

“It ruins your life,” she says.  “You put on weight from the late-night pizza and you get wrinkles from lack of sleep.”  So she’s preparing with a body modification she hopes will make her more efficient–tattooing the tax code on her arms.

Are You Ready To Go?

I bit the bullet and went to see Batman Vs. Superman the other day. Honestly, I was expecting it to be crap. Reviews have been less than flattering and I was not a fan of Man of Steel. Turns out I was pleasantly surprised by the film. The story was there, it kept my attention, and despite the end going a bit overboard as did Man of Steel, I enjoyed it. Batman Vs. Superman wasn’t great, but it was certainly good and absolutely worth seeing on the big screen once. But, leaving the theater, I…

Is Trump Winging It?

Meaning of 'winging it':

"To do something  in an impromptu manner, improvising, with little preparation."

Origin:

"Authors have long used 'wing' as a verb and referred to birds that 'winged their way' and later, metaphorically, to time, love etc 'winging its way' to a recipient. That's not the 'winging it' we are concerned with here though, which has nothing to do with wings with feathers. This expression might also be thought to be derived from 'on a wing…

Nurse Who Took Pics of Unconscious Patient’s Penis Surrenders License

Nurse Who Took Pics of Unconscious Patient’s Penis Surrenders License:  Kristen Johnson, a nurse at Upstate University Hospital, who was convicted of taking photos of an unconscious patient’s penis with her iPhone and sending them to co-workers, has surrendered her nursing license to New York authorities.  In her defense, her last name is Johnson, so there’s always the possibility that she just assumed sending photographs of someone’s "Johnson" was like…

Siberian-Americans

No humans are native to the Americas.

Everybody who lives in the Americas today either came here personally, or is descended from someone who did, or who was dragged here against their will.

The people who live in this hemisphere are adventurers, people who want a better life for themselves and their families, explorers, pioneers, and survivors.

We can discover where people came from by looking at the DNA in their mitochondria. Mitochondria are transmitted by eggs only.…
