Short Story: Two

Posted on August 17, 2013 at 5:00am 0 Comments

After the wars, earthquakes, meltdowns and the changes in the climate, there wasn't much left of Japan. In fact, nobody called it that anymore, and its population was now miniscule. The country's four seasons, once loved by poets and artists, had turned into a permanent winter that froze everything, including the now lifeless ocean. The remaining population wore layers of robes made with the plastic bags that they were able to find. Once worn, the robes were…

Short Story: Callous

I still don't know how they learned my e-mail address.

Even more, I don't know how they got their hands on my DNA samples.

They'd even managed to get my parents' DNA samples, even though they've both been dead for ten years -- their car had slipped off the road in Izu.

Like everyone else I get strange, unsolicited e-mail all the time, and I usually delete them without doing much thinking. But one day I received an especially strange one with the…

Welcome!

With any new site, we understand that finding your way around can be a bit daunting. To help you use our site, we have a few resources and tips, all of which can be found on pages under the Support tab in your top menu bar. They are:

FAQ- here you can find some quick answers to general questions, questions about privacy and about site features.

Site News, Tips & Tricks - this is our forum where you can find tips on using the site, news about site changes and other information from the staff and other members.

Our Terms Of Service and Our Copyright Policy can also be found under the Support tab.

You may also find additional help by going to chat and asking another member. Chat can be found in 2 place: There is a CHAT link in your top menu which will open chat in your browser.

The other option for opening chat is to use the small tabs at the bottom of most pages. The tab named "Opium Den" (our chat name) will open the in a small pop up window at the bottom of the screen. This window can also be resized or 'popped-out' and used as a separate window.

There is a "Members Online" tab on the bottom of your page too. This will show which other members are logged in (logged in does not mean they are active in the chat, simply they are logged in to the site). There is a small speaker icon which will allow you to adjust the chat beeps which many prefer to turn off or down when not actively chatting.

We have many excellent features and tools here. While it may seem overwhelming at first, the basics of posting and commenting are simple and before too long we hope you will feel comfortable and at home.

Bang around, explore, write, comment and most of all have fun!
