Prompts and Stories Lists for February 2017

Posted on February 5, 2017 at 2:50pm 4 Comments

Hey guys, can you believe it's already 2017?  I can't.  And I can't believe I forgot to post the Prompts and Stories Lists for last month. I am so, so sorry. January was crazy and February has started out like that, as well.  But I hate making excuses.  I'm sorry and I messed up and I'm hoping it won't happen again.

Here are the prompts:

1. Write a story inspired by this photo:…

Prompts and Stories List for December 2016

I have this tendency to disappear sometimes.  These past few months, a lot's been going on and it seems I did just that.  I can't believe I forgot to post for November, and I can't apologize enough.

For this month, well, it's the holidays, cold weather, family, food, presents, excitement, maybe some stress are in the air.  Let's take inspiration from all that, and write a story (or two, or three, or four) about it (or them).

Here are some prompts, if you'd like:

Prompts and Stories List for October 2016

October already...

For many of us, the air is getting colder, and thoughts are turning to autumn and to one of the most fun holidays out there, Halloween.

So for this month, why not try a Fall/Halloween marathon?  Try writing one story a week, of any length (even very short, flash fiction) with one or both of these themes?  You could even take it a step further, focusing on, say, stories about your favorite kind of monster or the monster that scares you the most - the…

Prompts and Stories List for September 2016

Posted on September 15, 2016 at 6:23am 6 Comments

You know that saying "When it rains, it pours"?  Such has been my September. I am so, so sorry that these prompts are coming so late.

So, to make the most of what limited time we have, why not try to go small?

This month, try to write a story, dialogue, or descriptive scene of 50-100 about each of these topics:

1. Time

2. Leaves

3. School

4. UFO's

You can do whatever you like with these prompts - write something for each, write…

I'm in for 3/30 with "Holy Hell on Holy Saturday", a timely satiric parable about America's love of sports, violence and winning. Wear your mouth-piece.

I wrote a piece called "Turkey on the Run", and the Turkey isn't the one on the run. It's mostly true, except for the part about chickens in Hell.

And so it begins and ends.   Run away, Turkey.   A few thoughts in loose fiction form.
