Profile Information

Born and raised in Middle Tennessee (with a year in Mass. when I was 4). Headed off to DC 2 weeks after graduation to work for the Census Bureau. Moved to Jeffersonville, Indiana in '97 to be closer to my folks. Retired (mostly unscathed) at the end of 2011. Now watching my garden grow and my bees buzz.

It's been a beautiful day today - my almond and peach are blooming - I decided to walk across the old railroad bridge that's been converted into a walking and cycling bridge.

There were a lot of people who had the same idea -…

And another - Suicide's Auditions

Another one that has always stuck with me -

This one is from Mean Mr. Mustard.  Chuck, I hope you get to move all your posts over.

(I had to delete many of the comments to get it under the 100,000 character limit.  It's a stroll down memory lane seeing all the names of former members.)

I hope froggy doesn't object -

There have been many good posts over the years, but this is one I always remember.

My New Toy

Posted on May 31, 2014 at 4:59pm 1 Comment

I'm trying to be more active these days.  I bought a new bike recently and can do 20 miles now.  I got a kayak - the water has finally warmed up - now I have to figure out where to try it out (don't want to drown while I'm learning).

And, yesterday I bought another toy -

It's a 1984 19' West Wight…

Thanks Mark!  Right now I need a Techie to help navigate - hopefully one not let go from OS!

Hi Mark, Yep, I'm finally here and so glad to be able to stay in touch with so many great people. I hope that I'll be able to participate a lot more than I have lately.  Thanks for your kind words about my banner - it was my idea but the boyfriend drew it and helped me immensely in getting it online.

Thanks for your welcome, Mark. I just arrived here, made my first psot today, and am still learning to navigate the site, but it looks beautiful and seems easy to use.

Today was the day I finally gave up on OS--I'm a little slow on the uptake.

I shut out the lights before I left.

Sometimes I feel like an old soul. I really do feel we live on in some way, but not in any religious way, but a spiritual way. I think you have one too. I have most of my stuff on Readers. I was also on OurSalon before, but got a little mad and quit OS and this place at the same time. My wife stopped me. I have another story being published in Scene4 Magazine in October that I am really buzzed about. I'll be sure to send you the link. Thanks again for you kind words.
