Steve S and James blog posts all copied - as are the comments

Hi guys,

I hope you're all doing well.

I just wanted to let you know that I've finished copy/pasting Steve S and James's posts and will hopefully have free sites up for them soon. I will keep you updated via various channels - emails for those of you whose contacts I have, as well as via Twitter and by asking some of you who are in contact with other OSers, to help spread the word.

Just so you know, if you ever commented on a James post, I'm going to be including the…

What about our dead?

Hi guys,

It's been a while since I've posted here. Life has taken me in some different directions, but I was always comforted to know that Our Salon was there, and that I could go back and lurk or even one day maybe chime in. I was shocked to get the message that this place is shutting down - but I understand. I see lots of people thanking Lorianne and I want to do that, too.

Thanks, Lorianne, for all of your hard work, and for giving us a refuge, a place to make our own, and a…

The Gingerbread Man on the Metro

My secret weapon was a little wooden train.

I ordered it from IKEA, along with a shoe rack for our hallway. It was cheap, colorful, and compatible with my son Julien’s Brio track, and my plan was to keep it in my purse, still packaged, to pull out when things got really hard.…

A reader, a writer, a fingernail biter, a cat person, a traveller, a good kid to be around if you don't like silence, a movie buff, a history buff, an insomniac, a dreamer, a cookie inhaler, an immigrant, sort-of married, a would-be fashion maven, an extrovert who needs a lot of alone time, an art lover who can't draw a straight line. I'm also Editor in Chief of "Beguile", a literary e-zine. We're always on the lookout for new voices. Come check us out at http://www.beguilezine.blogspot.

My header and background were thought up by me, but since I am just horrendous at drawing, the boyfriend very kindly drew the pictures, and helped put it online, while I sat around complaining and periodically snapping photos of our cat.  I love you, D!  Thanks!

fernsy! I've missed you, and have been thinking of you, as well. I hope things are getting better for you.  OS is awful right now but I hope it's not hopeless - but Our Salon is really quite delightful and that helps ease the pain of witnessing Open's decline.

Hi Heidi, it's been hard for me to get onto Open Salon as well.  It's frustrating, and very sad to see what the site has become....  I'm glad to be here, and glad you're here, too!
